学制：中文或英文授课，3 年制。

申请资格：硕士研究生以上学历，英语精通（TOEFL ibt 90 及以上，雅思 6.0 及以上）或具备一定汉语水平（新HSK 四级及以上，旧HSK五级及以上），45 岁以下的健康外籍学生。
学费：29000 元/年

申请材料：
(1) 外国留学生入学申请表（请见附件）；
(2) 加盖学校印章的学历证书、学位证书或本人就读学校的预计毕业证书（证书为中英文以外的文本还须提供公证过的中文或英文翻译件）；
(3) 加盖学校印章的本科阶段全部课程的成绩单（中、英文以外文本的成绩单还需提供公证过的中文或英文翻译件原件）；
(4) 两封教授或副教授以上职称专家的推荐信（须为中文或英文文本）；
(5) 个人陈述（1000 字左右，内容应包括个人学习、工作经历，学术研究成果，硕士阶段的研究计划，毕业后的个人发展目标等）；

(6) 学术论文摘要和目录；

(7) HSK证书（新HSK4 级及以上；旧HSK五级及以上证书）；

(8) 申请者护照及护照照片；
(9) 400元申请费收据。

申请费：400元。若申请者申请时间已经超过项目截点，申请费将会给予退还，否则将不予退还。详情请参见费用支付栏目。

录取：经学校审核材料，并确定录取名单，必要时可能通过面试或笔试手段决定是否录取。录取结果将于 2016年6月中旬公布，《录取通知书》随后寄发。

PhD Program for International Students

Field of Study: All English-taught Ph.d Programs 2016

Program Length: 3 years of Chinese- or English-taught programs

Term Starts: Each year in September. (The exact time will be written on the Admission Letter)

Application Deadline: May 31, 2016

Eligibility:

1. Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health.

2. Applicants should have a master’s degree or will receive it before September 2016.

3. Applicants should meet the language requirements or hold the language certificate as required by the program, as follows.

Application procedure:

Applicants may come to our office to apply if in Shanghai, or mail all the following required documents to the International Education College if not able to come in person.

Application documents:

1. Application form for International Students with recent photo (see attachment);

2. Degree certificate, diploma or official proof of expected graduation (the diploma or certificate must be in Chinese or English with official school stamps or a notarized version in Chinese or English);

3. Related transcripts (the original one must be in Chinese or English with official stamps of the high school or a notarized version in Chinese or English );

4. Language certificate:

Chinese-taught program: Applicants should hold new HSK 4 or old HSK 5 certificate. (If applicant’s official language is Chinese or they have graduated from Chinese-taught undergraduate program, this is not required).

English-taught program: Applicants should hold TOEFL 80 or IELTS 6.0 or above certificate. (If applicants’ official language is English or they have graduated from English-taught undergraduate program, this is not required).

6.Application fee (RMB 400) proof of payment: (When transferring your application fee online or through a bank, you should put your name and application fee in the remittance note. Please do not transfer fees by ATM)

7. Two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors (in Chinese or English);

8. Statement of purpose - Around 1000 words for master’s degree candidates; around 1500 words for doctoral candidates. Topics to cover: study and work experience, academic research results, planned research proposals and personal development objectives after graduation;

9. Catalog and abstracts of published papers, as well as other documents that can prove academic ability;

Enrollment: Shanghai Maritime University reserves the right to admit foreign students by written test or interview. The enrollment result will be issued in the middle of June, 2016. The offer package will be delivered after that.
